SCS FormulateExpectations for modern SPF formulations extend beyond performance, such as providing a reliable sun protection factor (SPF).
Ecological considerations, like aquatic toxicity and the potential for endocrine disruption, contribute to the so-called “eco-profiling” of formulation components.
The EU microplastic regulation also impacts the selection of ingredients. Additionally, the skincare product must remain elegant in application.
In this presentation, we introduce a new in-vivo tested SPF 50 face cream and explain the rationale behind the choice of specific components.
Key aspects include photo-stable and non-critical UV filters, physical SPF maximization, the selection of emollients, an eco-friendly formula, a multi-level protection strategy, and a PEG- and silicone-free composition.
