Within the anti-aging skin care field, peptides are one of the most sought-after solutions due to their well-defined chemical, analytical, and physicochemical properties as well as specificity in mechanism of action. Now, a new, naturally-derived peptide has been developed by following the principles of green chemistry, without compromising performance. Inspired by electrical stimulation, this high performance peptide has been shown to mimic the benefits of microcurrent devices. Analysis of facial features in both male and female panelists who used the peptide showed a ‘triorbital’ skin lift, demonstrating a complete upper face lifted appearance with marked improvements in the eyebrow, eyelid, and cheek. Treatment with the peptide also minimized the appearance of wrinkles after only one week. Clinical efficacy was comparable to using a commercially available microcurrent device over the same period, supporting the claim of a microcurrent-like effect.
