Sustainability within the Personal Care Industry

Today we are all more aware of the need to protect and defend the health of our planet. The term “Sustainability” has a recognised interpretation as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

This vast topic covers environmental, economic and social aspects and in one way or another is a hot topic with all companies and individuals.

The SCS has designed a new programme called the “Sustainability Studio” which comprises of a broad range of talks given by experts on legislation, packaging, formulating, life cycle analysis, recycling, standards, supply chain, store design, raw materials etc. The aim was to cover as many angles as possible to inform and give ideas on how to improve our impact in the world of cosmetics.
