As Director-General, Emma is responsible for the strategic direction of CTPA and acts as the public voice of the Association. Emma is also leading on the Association’s ambitious Sustainability Strategy: Working Towards a net Positive Cosmetics Industry; external stakeholder engagement; and international relations.
Emma represents the CTPA on several committees at Cosmetics Europe, the European personal care association, including Board of Directors, College of Active Association Members and the Strategic Advisory Groups on the European Green Deal and Sun Protection. Emma is a Vice-chair of the Science Strategic Core Team.
In her former role as Director of Science at CTPA, Emma was responsible for the full portfolio of scientific and technical work at the Association, dealing with many and varied ingredient issues and technical guidance on bringing a cosmetic product to the market.
Emma is a pharmacist by profession.
Emma has been a member of the SCS since 2003 and has been privileged to undertake several active roles within the Society, including Chair of the Scientific Programme Committee, Council member and Honorary Secretary, and is extremely honoured to be a past President.
