Katerina is a skincare specialist with substantial experience of working at the clinical, commercial and research interface. She holds a MSc in Clinical Biochemistry, a PhD in Transdermal Absorptions and over 25 years of global work experience in the personal care and wound care industry. Katerina has an in-depth knowledge of skin biology in both its healthy and diseased states, a comprehensive understanding of consumer and technology trends and commercialisation of research in a spectrum of healthcare areas. She has experience of running an innovation consultancy and a private clinic with focus on functional skincare.

Katerina is passionate about innovation in personal care, which goes far beyond singular ingredients and touches the health and wellbeing of the society at large. Approaching skincare from many perspectives, as a scientist, clinician and a brand owner, she truly appreciates the importance of a deep understanding of consumer needs, fast translation of science into products and the benefits of cross-functional knowledge-sharing. As a clinician, scientific consultant and co-director of the Cosmetics Cluster UK, she endeavours to help highlight the importance of research and innovation in personal care to UK export-led growth, employment and the individual wellbeing of consumers.
