CTPA

As Director-General, Emma is responsible for the strategic direction of CTPA (the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association). CTPA is the UK trade association for the cosmetics and personal care industry.

Emma acts as the public voice of the Association and leads on public affairs and advocacy; external stakeholder engagement; and international relations, as well as championing CTPA’s Sustainability and DEI strategies.

Emma represents the CTPA on several committees at Cosmetics Europe, the European personal care association, including the Board of Directors, the College of Active Association Members and the Standing Committee Sun Protection.

Emma is a pharmacist by profession and joined CTPA in 2003. In her former role as Director of Science at CTPA, Emma was responsible for the full portfolio of scientific and technical work at the Association, dealing with many and varied ingredient issues and technical guidance on bringing a cosmetic product to the market.

Emma has been a member of the SCS since 2003 and has been privileged to undertake several active roles within the Society, including Chair of the Scientific Programme Committee, Council member and Honorary Secretary, and is extremely honoured to be a past President. Emma is delighted to have been elected Honorary Member of the SCS at the 2022 AGM.
