Dr Carol Treasure is the Founder and CEO of XCellR8, a 100% animal-free, or vegan, testing laboratory. XCellR8 combines established regulatory methods with a unique animal-product-free strategy, delivering safety and efficacy testing programmes that are both scientifically and ethically advanced. Clients include global ingredient manufacturers as well as high street retailers Lush and The Body Shop.

Carol holds a PhD from the FRAME Alternatives Laboratory at University of Nottingham, based on skin cell biology and reconstructed skin models for cosmetics testing.  She has devoted her career to using innovative science to replace animal testing over the past 25 years. This culminated in an invite to debate sustainable consumption at the 2018 United Nations General Assembly.
