Christine Lawson
Sustainability Affairs Manager

Obtaining an Honours Degree in Chemistry from the University of Birmingham, Christine joined the cosmetics industry in 1989. During her career, Christine has enjoyed working in various aspects of the industry – from product development and manufacturing, to spas and retail, both in the UK and overseas.
Christine attained the SCS Diploma in Cosmetic Science in 1991, is also a qualified aromatherapist and has been actively involved within the Society of Cosmetic Scientists, including as a current member of the Council, as well as the South African Society of Cosmetic Chemists.
In 2016, Christine joined CTPA where her previous experience helps inform her role of Sustainability Affairs Manager, leading CTPA’s Sustainability Strategy, ‘Driving Towards a Net Positive Cosmetics Industry’.
To build capacity and resilience within CTPA and its membership, Christine works to better understand the challenges facing us all, focussing on industry-wide solutions by encouraging best practice and advocating on behalf of the industry. Christine leads the Association’s engagement with key sustainability stakeholders and is also responsible for coordinating industry responses to relevant UK Government legislative proposals.
