Alastair currently heads the Chemicals Trade & Investment team within the Department for Business & Trade. Alastair’s team works with businesses and stakeholders across the supply chain to encourage UK Exports and Inward Investment. He has worked in International Trade Promotion for over 20 years.

Trained as a chemist, Alastair worked in R&D and product development roles with DuPont in Leeds, specialising in the formulation and application of light sensitive thin film coatings for lithographic printing plates, He also worked in China, commissioning and running the production functions for a Chinese printing plate manufacturing company.
