Without doubt, the biggest issues facing mankind is that of climate change. Tackling this problem requires the mobilisation and action of nations, governments, corporations, and companies to reduce emissions to minimise impacts and to do this with increasing urgency.  There is also a place within this for individual ownership and action and people often want to do something, but feel confused about where to even start.

Three years ago, BASF started an education programme around Carbon Literacy, primarily aimed at informing its own employees, but also including customers and other stakeholders.  The aim was to engage people in the climate change conversation in such a way that enabled them to understand why this was important and to guide them on the best actions to take as individuals. In short, how to become part of the solution, not part of the problem.

This presentation will follow our journey through the process and will detail what we feel we have got out of it, as well as acting as encouragement for other organisations to do the same.
