Novel Actives in Upcycling and Hyperfermentation

Upcycling is one of the elements of a much wider topic: the circular economy, which is not really a new concept. Before industrialization, food production was considered to be circular due to its own nature. Traditional farming culture did not tolerate waste, everything was considered usable: “Waste not want not”.

Today the circular economy is being re-evaluated in a modern context where the sustainability of resources and processes is again a key point for a fairer development of the society and the protection of the environment.

Through the upcycling of by-products from excellent Italian agri-food production, Phenbiox has developed several active ingredients for cosmetics based on our innovative Hyperfermentation processes able to boost the efficacy of these actives.
