New Launches!

Sequential is excited to announce the launch of the industry's first-ever Targeted Skin Condition Panels through the lens of the Microbiome, designed to address major skin conditions:
-Acne
-Rosacea
-Atopic dermatitis
-Malodor
-Sun/UV exposure
These pioneering panels offer a targeted approach to skin research by focusing on the underlying microbial significance of these conditions. Sequential utilises a qPCR approach for these targeted panels with their Smart Probes™, ensuring that results include species and subspecies level analysis as well as absolute quantification.

Product Offerings:

Skin Microbiome Testing

If you are in the process of developing or have already formulated a skincare product with the microbiome in mind, we can carry out in vivo testing to understand the effects on the skin microbiome and determine whether they help to maintain the microbiome. Using our proprietary Sequential Patch™, we extract microbial material from the skin in a way that is more efficient than any other method within the industry.

Scalp Microbiome Testing

If you are in the process of developing or have already formulated a scalp care (shampoo, conditioner, serum, oil, etc.) product with the microbiome in mind, we can carry out in vivo testing to understand the effects on the scalp microbiome and determine whether they help to maintain the microbiome.

Oral Microbiome Testing
If you are in the process of developing or have already formulated an oral care product (toothpaste, mouthwash, etc.) with the microbiome in mind, we can carry out in vivo testing to understand the effects on the oral microbiome and determine whether they help to maintain the microbiome.

Vaginal Microbiome Testing

If you are in the process of developing or have already formulated a care product for the vulva or vagina with the microbiome in mind, we can carry out in vivo testing to understand the effects on the vaginal microbiome and determine whether they help to maintain the microbiome.

Product Certification

We provide our clients with a certification to claim “Maintains the Microbiome” subject to in vivo testing results which can be used in communication efforts. Once your product is tested with our qPCR Smart Probes™ and has shown favourable results in supporting the microbiome, we can certify your product with our Maintains the Microbiome certification seal. We have ensured that our seal and certification are backed by quantifiable data and scientifically significant markers.

Clinical Assessments

We offer clinical assessments on candidates to maximise the quality of our findings and allow for a diverse set of markers to evaluate the skin outside of the microbiome.

Biophysical measurements (before, during and after study):
•Hydration (TEWL and corneometer)
•Elasticity
•pH
Dermatological/Clinical:
•High-resolution images
•Fitzpatrick skin type
•Age-related changes or features (eg. evidence of solar elastosis)
•Degree of UV damage (eg. solar lentigines, actinic field change)
•Evidence of inflammatory disease (eg. features of dermatitis, rosacea, acne, psoriasis)
•Evidence of suspected side effects of treatment (eg. erythema)
Skin texture (eg. oily, xerotic)
